Our namesake, Gabriel, is the hero of Henry Wadsworth's epic poem, Evangeline. Penned 150 years ago in 1847, the poem tells the story of Evangeline and Gabriel, who become separated as the Acadians are being expelled by the British from Grand Pre. Both heroine and hero experience hardships and a myriad of tribulations as they struggle in a valiant effort to reunite. Evangeline and Gabriel have become icons for Acadians since they epitomize the tenacity of the very soul of Acadie. Still, 150 years after its composition, the poem, Evangeline, harbours symbolism for all Acadians as they strive to take their place in a competitive world.
We are proud of our unique Acadian culture, music and traditions. It is our mission to have our customers experience an unforgettable dining sensation coupled with the finest Acadian, Irish and Scotch music the region has to offer. For friends, fun and frolic, come to Le Gabriel for the ultimate evening and one you will bring home with you to remember for years to come. You'll be glad you did.
